Meet our new intern Nele! This month, she's joining us as a graphic designer at LX Concept. 🎉

Nele is studying Graphic Design for Digital and Print Media at SyntraPXL and is doing a one-month internship at LX Concept as part of her studies. Previously, she worked as a speech therapist, but her interest in graphic design has been growing for a while. So, it’s time for a creative shift. With her eye for typography, eagerness to learn, and fresh energy, she’s strengthening our team this month. Welcome to LX, Nele! 👋

What do you hope to learn from LX Concept during your internship, and why did you choose LX?

"During my internship, I hope to learn a lot about how things really work in the life and work of a designer. As this is my very first internship, everything is new to me: not just the creative work itself, but also what happens behind the scenes. How projects are launched, how you collaborate with clients, how ideas take shape and are adjusted... I’m looking forward to experiencing all of this up close and discovering what energises me as a designer."

How would you describe yourself in three words, and how do these three words relate to design/your life?

"I would describe myself as patient, colourful, and — to be honest — also a bit of a stress-head. Due to my background as a speech therapist, I’ve learned to always stay patient, even when things don’t work out straight away. In design, I find that this trait helps me to work with focus and calm. At the same time, I’m someone who wants to get everything just right, which sometimes causes a bit of (healthy) stress. But with a colourful mindset and an open view, I try to find the right balance."

Every designer has their go-to fonts, what’s your top 3?

My go-to fonts are secretly still heavily influenced by the preferences of my tutors. But as a safe, timeless choice, I usually fall back on Lato, Helvetica, or Fort. They’ve become so ingrained in my system that they almost automatically roll out of my font selection.

Imagine: you get to meet one creative giant for a lunch-and-learn — who would you choose and why? What do you hope to learn from that person?

Which songs or artists would you immediately add to our office playlist?

"I secretly hope that at least one of their songs is already in the playlist, but as a fan of Sweden, I can't help but nominate all ABBA songs. Timeless, catchy, and always great for a sing-along moment."

Discover our LX Concept playlist below. And yes — there are already a few ABBA classics in there. Because let's face it: a touch of ABBA immediately lifts everyone's mood and even helps to push through just a little bit harder on the busiest days.
